Date Released: 7 May 2014

TERMINALFOUR, a leading web content management company, today announced it has won a £100,000 contract to provide its web content management system and services to Manchester Metropolitan University.  The deal marks TERMINALFOUR's 75th higher education client worldwide.

Manchester Metropolitan University is the UK's most popular University with more than 52,000 student applications for undergraduate courses starting in 2011.  Spread across seven campus locations in Manchester and Cheshire, it offers 1,000 courses to more than 36,000 students.  To cater to the increasing online demands of 4,300 staff and current and prospective students, it decided to review and overhaul its portfolio of websites and entire online architecture.  TERMINALFOUR was chosen to provide its flagship product – TERMINALFOUR Site Manager to address the University's web content management requirements.

TERMINALFOUR Site Manager will be used to support the development and maintenance of over 100 websites and replace a number of disparate content management systems currently used in the university.  This will remove the complexities of website publishing and limit operational and administrative bottlenecks. Its ease-of-use and personalisation functionality will allow for greater student engagement and, ultimately, create better online experiences for all the University's stakeholders.

The Manchester Metropolitan University win marks TERMINALFOUR's 75th higher education client worldwide and includes twelve new North American universities signed in the past year.  TERMINALFOUR's Site Manager is now powering some of the most prominent university websites throughout the world including UCD in Ireland, St. Andrews in the UK, University of Virginia in North America, and Rhodes University in South Africa.

Mark Shaw-Griffiths New Media Manager, Manchester Metropolitan University said; "TERMINALFOUR has a unique understanding of the needs of a higher education institution and in particular the demands of a large university like ours.  Their credentials, experience and purpose build university modules gave us the confidence that our online presence was safe in their hands."

Piero Tintori, chief executive officer, TERMINALFOUR, said, "Manchester Metropolitan University is one of the most progressive education centres in Europe. To win this contract is another huge endorsement of our service and our reputation as web content management company with a genuine understanding and competence in higher education."

"We're particularly excited to be announcing our 75th higher education client.  We've been working with the sector for more than a decade and have built a lot of the product based on feedback from them. This has effectively resulted in a solution built for higher education by higher education."
